OISCA International has implemented a mangrove forestation project at the river banks of Taliparamba River in Kannur district. The mangrove restoration and conservation initiative aim to restore, conserve and sustainably manage mangrove eco system in Kannur Kerala. The project seek to enhance biodiversity protect coastal area from erosion and improve the livelyhood of local communities. 50 hectors of land near the Taliparamba River was selected and thousand of mangrove saplings were planted. OISCA Chapters are also implementing mangrove forestation activities. Hundreds of college students under the able guidance of Chapter officials are participating in this novel project in different areas of Kerala.
