This Project is funded by State Medicinal Plants Board and Sir Syed College Taliparamba is supporting OISCA in the implementation. Sacred Groves are the forest left untouched by local people due to some religious belief. We have successfully implemented the project in three Groves at Kannur district. The main activities includes Biodiversity studies, constructing medicinal plant jaiva veli, cleaning up of ponds and wells, awareness campaigns etc. About 1000 medicinal plants were planted as bio fence. More than 40 species of medicinally important plants are preserved in each grove.
