Ministry of Textiles, Government of India selected OISCA International, South India Chapter to implement AHVY in "Mural style fabric painting craft" at Kozhikode Corporation, of Kerala. We executed the AHVY scheme in 35 Self Help Groups consisting of 20 artisans in each group with a total of 700 artisans from 12 villages in Kozhikode Corporation. OISCA have now 1600 certified artisans. OISCA is running a school of fine arts called OISCA Kalakshetra to impart training in Kerala Mural Painting to unemployed women. Apart from training exhibitions are also organized during festival seasons to market the handicrafts products produced by our women artisans. This help the women to earn an income and thus become financially independent. We have setup a gallery at OISCA Kalakshetra for the sale of Kerala Mural Paintings.
